Evans Bros. report: –  A smaller number than expected forward saw the Fat Lambs see an increase in this week’s daily market average, up by 5pence from previous week, with several lambs crossing the £100 barrier.  Cull ewes and rams saw a steady trade as has been for the past few weeks with many buyers looking for stock.

Llanybydder Store Cattle Sale

Llanybydder market continued its incredible run of excellent prices with a 100% clearance on Saturday with many younger cattle presented. A lively ring of buyers present helped the buoyant trade with 3 incredibly strong 20 month Limousin steers gaining top price at £1250 for Mr J E Jones, Felingelli. A special entry of suckler cows and in calvers from Mr and Mrs T Owens, Rhydarwen sold to a top price of £1900 and £1240 respectively. An increased entry in the barren cow section sold up to £1390 and £1365, the highest ever seen in Llanybydder mart, to Mr D Thomas, Aberduar for 5 year old Limousin cows. Many many more cattle are required to satisfy buyer demands for the next sale on Saturday 8th of July with entries already coming in.
